Hey, not all of us consider that fun. I'm still behind on learning enough html to make my blog template fully functional.

In my PC/Cassiopeia days, my setup was fairly complicated, but between the Mac and the web I've simplified it considerably. My database is just in a big Excel file, which I export to CSV and upload to my web server, where a perl script provides a simple query interface so I can look stuff up from anywhere I'm connected. The combination is still a bit too specific to be of direct help to anybody else, but I wouldn't want to take away the fun of writing your own software, anyway...

So right now I use skivsamling to keep track of my record collection (found here), and I know glenn keeps some monstrously complicated database on his home setup, but I was wondering if anyone out there uses another online or freeware service/software to keep track of their collection. I recall hearing about one for books, but promptly lost the link.

I don't have anything against skivsamling, it basically does what I want it to do, but I'm curious to see if there's something better out there.
